Bible Reading 2 Timothy 1:6
While the gift is in us, we have the responsibility to stir it up.
The apostle Paul wrote to Timothy… For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you
As Christians, when we are saved, we are filled with the Holy Spirit and He gives us spiritual gifts to use in His kingdom, not only for own sake but for the sake of others Ephesians 1:13–14;
1 Corinthians chapter 12 vs 7 make it clear that each Christian is given spiritual gifts according to the Lord’s choice. Spiritual gifts are given for the edification of the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 14:12). The exact timing of the giving of these gifts is not specifically mentioned. Most assume that spiritual gifts are given at the time of spiritual birth (the moment of salvation). 2 Timothy 1:6 refer to a gift that Timothy had received at the time of his ordination “by prophecy.” This likely indicates that one of the elders at Timothy’s ordination spoke about a spiritual gift that Timothy would have to enable his future ministry.
YOUTH
Proverbs 17: 8 says ; A gift is as a precious stone in the eyes of him that hath it: whithersoever it turneth, it prospereth.
The gifts the Holy Spirit gives us are not fully developed; they must be cultivated as we continue to grow and mature in our walk with God.
we need to use the gifts that God has given us so they do not lie dormant within us — for who can they be of use to then?
You stir up your gift by developing, refining, enhancing and using it, that where education comes in.
Education can’t give you your gift, but it can help you develop it so that it can be used to the maximum.
Questions: What is the difference between Gifts and Talents?
First, we have to understand that there are differences between gifts and talents.
A talent is a result of something that already comes in your genetics or from a training on something.
A spiritual gift is the result of the power of the Holy Spirit, acting through you.
The devil has filled the air with so many power draining content that as kept our youth busy with.
Some contents on social media can drain the spiritual inverter of a child of God .
That is why we see so many youth limit there potential in life.
To stir up the gift of God that is in you, you need to use the gift you have been given.
Practice godly discipline, which produces the fruit of God’s nature in our lives.
Keep the gift ablaze by not letting your spiritual self grow cold or lukewarm.
Take stock of yourself and ask if you are sidetracked or diverted by the world.
Do not neglect your gift.
Joseph’s ability to interpret dreams was not just a personal gift but a tool through which God worked to bring about salvation for many.
1 Samuel 16:13. from the time of his anointing, David was a spiritually gifted young man. I think it’s likely that David’s giftedness had a far greater impact on his encounter with Goliath than we normally credit. Perhaps the problem is that we limit our awareness of spiritual gifts to the named gifts of the New Testament: tongues, prophecy, and so forth.
However, the Old Testament reveals that spiritual gifts could have physical dimensions. Samson was a man who was able to do great feats of strength through the Spirit of the Lord. Similarly, in 1 Kings 18, Elijah is able to outrun Ahab in his chariot because “the hand of the Lord” was upon him.
David makes similarly impressive claims about his own divinely bestowed abilities in Psalm 18:29, he claims the ability to charge and defeat large groups of enemies and to leap over walls. Vs. 33-34 claim that he has received the gifts of surefootedness, battle training, and superhuman strength from God.
As a Youth, Father, Mother What kind of Gift will you Desired …. or do you have.
Paul Writes the list of spiritual gifts which he had just enumerated in 1 Corinthians 12:8-10 and 12:28-30. This interpretation implies that Paul is urging the Corinthian believers to decide what gifts they desired.
1 Corinthians 12:31 in Other Translations
31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.
31 But earnestly desire the higher gifts. And I will show you a still more excellent way.
31 So you should earnestly desire the most helpful gifts.
